John Hancock is well-known for his large, bold signature on the Declaration of Independence–a life-or-death sort of signature. Hancock understood that England would have his head unless the American colonists managed to win their war against England.
You have seen Hancock’s signature, but did you know what he said after signing? He said: “There, King George will be able to read that without his spectacles.”
